Getting Around and Parking During the Viljandi Folk Music Festival
Temporary traffic and parking arrangements will be in place in Viljandi’s Old Town and around the Castle Hills from 23 to 27 July during the Viljandi Folk Music Festival. Festival organisers recommend that visitors park at the Kaalu Street 6 car park, the car park between Aasa and Järve Streets, or make use of the paid and free on-street parking available throughout the town.
“We have installed 101 information boards and temporary traffic signs across the town to ensure that the temporary traffic arrangements are as clear as possible for festival visitors,” says Karoliina Lotta Kangust, the festival’s Logistics Manager.
Vehicle access will be restricted or partially closed on Pikk, Munga, Sepa, Lossi and Talli Streets, Tasuja Boulevard, J. Laidoner Square, and in the Castle Hills area. In addition, roadworks will be taking place on Jakobsoni Street between Tallinna and Koidu Streets during the festival, with a signed diversion via Posti Street.
Parking will not be permitted on the streets listed above, nor on Vana-Vaksali Street, in the St Paul’s Church car park, the sports centre car park opposite the church, or along Ranna Boulevard and beside the artificial turf pitch, where the festival’s glamping and caravan sites are located.
Detailed information about the temporary traffic and parking arrangements is available on the festival website, the City of Viljandi website, the Tark Tee traffic information portal and in the Waze app.
